The background of this page is a 360 x 180 degree equirectangular image of Fort Fisher in North Carolina and the incredible vistas around it. Fort Fisher is located near the tip of Cape Fear also known as Federal Point. At this particular location, only 1700 feet of land separate the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. From an altitude of 150 feet at this vantage point, you can easily understand why the primary earth works of the fort were constructed here.
